Gem Finder Privacy Policy

Gem Finder is a game for children that works offline. Its gameplay data is saved on your device and is not sent to Cabin Five.

Effective October 3, 2026 · Applies to Gem Finder version 1.0 for iPhone and iPad

Who we are and what this policy covers

Cabin Five LLC develops Gem Finder, also called “Gemfinder” in the app. This policy explains the game’s information practices and what happens if a parent or guardian contacts us for support. You can reach us at info@gocabinfive.com.

This policy does not cover the other Cabin Five products. Visiting this website in a browser is separate from playing the offline game; see “Website visits” below.

Children’s privacy

Gem Finder is designed for children, including children under 13. Children can play without creating an account, supplying contact information, or connecting to the internet. The game does not collect personal information online from children or send their gameplay data to us or to other businesses.

There is no chat, messaging, public profile, online multiplayer, or feature for uploading or publicly sharing a child’s creations. Parents do not need to submit a child’s name, birthdate, or email address for the child to play.

Information saved on your device

The game saves the following locally so you can continue playing:

  • World names, randomly generated world identifiers and seeds, creation and last-played dates, and time spent playing.
  • The explorer name and fictional avatar appearance you choose, including character style, skin tone, hair, and outfit. Use a nickname or a generated name; a real name is not required.
  • In-game position, edited terrain, inventory, equipment, discoveries, crafting and quest progress, and other game state.
  • Control, sound, music, view-distance, and tutorial preferences.

These records are used for saving worlds, displaying your explorer, restoring progress, and remembering preferences. The position is a location inside the fictional game world, not your device’s physical location. World identifiers distinguish local saves; they are not advertising or device identifiers. Cabin Five has no remote access to these records.

Advertising, tracking, and permissions

Gem Finder has no advertisements, in-app purchases, subscriptions, analytics SDKs, third-party crash-reporting SDKs, or tracking. It does not sell or share gameplay data, build advertising profiles, or connect gameplay with our other products.

The game does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library. Its music and sound effects are generated in the app; it does not record your voice.

Storage, backups, and deletion

Local worlds remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. To delete a world, use the trash button for that world on the home screen and confirm deletion. This removes that world’s local save, including its explorer and progress. App preferences remain when you delete an individual world.

To remove the app’s local worlds and preferences, choose Delete App in iOS or iPadOS. Offloading the app preserves its documents and data and is not the same as deleting it.

Apple may include app data in device backups, depending on your settings. Deleting local data does not necessarily delete an existing backup, and restoring a backup may restore game data. You or a parent can manage backups through Apple’s device and iCloud settings. Cabin Five does not operate a game server, cloud-sync service, or backup service and cannot retrieve or delete copies in your Apple backups.

Apple services and diagnostics

Apple operates the App Store and device backup and diagnostic services under its own policies. Depending on your Apple settings, Apple may collect diagnostics and make crash reports or aggregated app statistics available to developers. This is separate from Gem Finder’s code, which does not contain its own analytics or crash-upload service.

You can manage diagnostic sharing in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. See Apple’s App Analytics & Privacy notice and Apple’s backup guidance.

Parent and guardian support

Support is intended for parents and guardians. If you email us, your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send are received by Cabin Five and processed by the email services used to deliver and store the message. The game does not send a support message or attach a save automatically.

We use support information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Please send only what is necessary, such as the device model, operating-system version, and a description of the problem. Do not include a child’s full name, address, photograph, voice recording, or other identifying information. Check screenshots for explorer or world names before sending them.

We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and necessary follow-up, or as required by law. It is not used for advertising or sold. You can ask us to review or delete support information you provided by emailing info@gocabinfive.com. Provider backups may retain copies until their normal expiration. We may need to confirm that a request comes from the person who sent the message.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it and delete information that is not needed or legally required. We do not have an online child account or remotely stored gameplay record to look up; local game data is managed on the device as described above.

Website visits

The offline game does not load this website. If you separately visit gocabinfive.com in a browser, the browser sends connection information, such as an IP address and browser details, to the website’s hosting services. Hosting, security, and installed WordPress services may process logs or cookies. The game’s offline privacy statements do not mean this website receives no information. Parents should use the website and email support on behalf of their children.

Changes and questions

We will update this policy and its effective date if the game’s information practices change. Any future feature that collects children’s personal information online would require a separate privacy review and any notices or parental consent required by applicable law before that collection begins.
